10 years as a celebrant

The 4th March 2020 is a pretty special date.  It marks the date that I celebrate 10 years in business.    I am not sure how it happened but it is definitely worth celebrating 10 years a celebrant and reflecting how far I have come.A decade ago,  I received confirmation from the Attorney Generals Department telling me that I was able to legally conduct weddings!Since then, I have married 100's of couples.  This is something I never dreamed would be possible when I started all those years ago.10 years ago, many celebrants were doing this job in their retirement, as a hobby, or as an act of community service.  I never dreamt it could be a "real" job. But now it is my full time job and I love it.Reaching this milestone is quite an achievement.  And like all small business owners there have been many highs and lows of running a small business.    But through out it all,  I thoroughly love what I do and all the wonderful people I have got to meet.I want to thank everyone who has joined me on this incredible journey over the last decade, especially all the wonderful couples who have invited me into their lives at such a very special time.Thank you to all the amazing wedding suppliers I have had the pleasure of working alongside. And to all my lovely celebrant colleagues - although technically my "competition" - I truely value your friendship and support. To those who have referred me to your family and friends, thank you!. It's the best compliment I can receive. And to my amazing family & friends who have been incredibly supportive and understanding - "thank you" doesn't seem enough.Watch this short little video to see some of the highlights of the last 10 years as a celebrant.  And I dare you not to smile while watching it.   I hope it makes it easy to see how much I love my "job" and how proud I am to have reached this milestone.
