Elopements in Melbourne CBD have suddenly become very popular.   Over the last few months, Covid restrictions have made wedding planning very difficult.    For this reason,  some couples have ditched their big wedding plans.    Instead opting for something more intimate and special

Many have decided to get married now and celebrate later.   Some of made plans to organise a big party once the restrictions have been eased.

For anyone thinking of eloping, you must lodge the legal paperwork with a registered celebrant (known as the Notice of Intention to marry).  This must be taken care of, at least 1 month prior to the wedding.

Once this has been done, all you need is a celebrant and 2 witnesses to get married.

Choosing to have a wedding this way, does not mean that it is any less special.

Meaningful vows can still be exchanged.  The ceremony can be personalised. Family and friends can watch via livestream or online.   And there are no outside distractions to worry about.

Melbourne City Elopements

Melbourne is a beautiful city for an elopement.  Or even a small intimate wedding with just a few guests.

There are so many possibilities for ceremony locations and photo opportunities.     From the fun and funky laneways to the sophisticated gardens.  The options are endless.  There is a location to suit everyones style.

Over the last few months, I have conducted a wide variety of elopements in Melbourne CBD.   These have included intimate weddings at venues like Fitzroy Gardens.  There have been weddings over lunch at restaurants such as Epocha or the Melbourne Supper Club.  Even private homes.    Regardless of the location, they have all been beautiful.

If you have been thinking of getting married in an intimate ceremony, I hope these photos inspire and excited you for some great locations around Melbourne CBD.
